Seven new faculty and staff are added to the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences (CAFS) this year. These are Mr. Buen Josef C. Andrade of Radio Station DYDC, Ms. Mae Claudine M. Gica of the Department of Development Communication (DDC), Ms. Carmel Khrisna W. Moreno of the Department of Animal Science (DAS), Ms. Ginas Aurea A. Villagonzalo of Department of Animal Science (DAS), Ms. Rose Marie Bañoc of the Department of Agricultural Education and Extension (DAEE), Ms. Ana Martha Como-Monsanto also of DAEE, and Ms. Mariedith F. Itang of the Department of Agronomy (DoA).
Mr. Andrade finished his BS in Development Communication major in Development Journalism in 2009 at the Visayas State University (VSU). He later pursued his master's degree in Public Administration in South Western University, Cebu City. He is currently holding the position of Broadcast Producer and Radio Announcer II of VSU's DYDC FM.
Ms. Gica, on the other hand, is a graduate of BS in Development Communication major in Community Broadcasting at the Visayas State University in 2014. She worked as a research assistant before she took her master's degree in Development Communication at VSU in 2015. She's currently serving as Instructor I of DDC and Radio Announcer of VSU's DYDC FM, teaching Educational Broadcasting, and Writing and Program Planning for Community Radio.
Ms. Moreno is an Instructor I in the Department of Animal Science. She took her undergraduate studies in Bachelor in Animal Science at VSU and finished it in 2010. In the same institution, she finished her master's degree in Animal Science in 2015. She is currently handling laboratory and lecture subjects in AnSc21 (Principles of Animal Science), AnSc22 (Principles of Animal Production) and AnSc168 (Applied Animal Health on undergraduate students).
Ms. Villagonzalo, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Agricultural Chemistry at the Visayas State College of Agriculture (VisCA, now VSU) in 1983. She finished her Master of Science in Animal Science in Food Science and Chemistry at VSU in 2015. She is currently teaching laboratory subjects in Animal Nutrition and Feeding and Principles of Animal Production.
Ms. Bañoc finished her BS in Development Education in 2013 and her master's degree in Agricultural Extension major in Agricultural Education in 2016, both in VSU. She is an Instructor I in DAEE, and she is handling lecture classes in Social Psychology, Rural Society and Undergraduate Seminar for Development Education students.
Like Ms Bañoc, Ms. Monsato took her BS and MS degrees in VSU. She finished her BS in Development Education in 2011, and her MS in Agricultural Extension in 2013. As Instructor I of DAEE, she handles lecture classes in Community Action, Community Resources and Evaluation of Management Programs.
Ms. Itang completed here Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) major in Agronomy in 2007at the then Leyte State University (LSU) now VSU. She finished her Master of Science in Agronomy at the same university in 2014. She is currently handling laboratory and lecture classes in Post-Harvest Handling and Seed Technology, Fundamentals of Crop Production, Fundamentals of Farming Systems, Practicum in Agronomy and Rootcrops Production.
These new faculty and staff were presented to the VSU community on September 5, 2016 during the opening program of the 116th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration at the Hilltop Amphitheater of VSU.
