The College of Agriculture and Food Science (CAFS) offers a scholarship assistance program for students taking up Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) and Bachelor of Animal Science (BSA). In particular, the College of Agriculture Financial Assistance Program (CA- FAP) is available to incoming freshmen students who will take up the said degree programs.
Every school year, CA- FAP has 40 available slots for new students who are willing to apply for the said program. For school year 2017-2018, the program has 30 continuing scholars consisting of 24 BSA students and 6 BAS students.
For those interested new freshmen, here are the requirements: (1) a high school average of at least 85%; (2) must pass the screening of the CAFS scholarship committee; and (3) must maintain a grade of at least 3.0 in all subjects (for those who are already CA- FAP grantees).
The benefits enjoyed by CAFAP grantees include free tuition fee(excluding miscellaneous and laboratory fees) and free stay in dormitories such as Sunflower Ladies Dormitory for female grantees, and Zea Mays Men's Dormitory for male grantees.
The CA- FAP program was instituted to help poor but deserving students taking up agriculture science in VSU. Many of the alumni of the program are now successful professionals in various agencies in the Visayas and Mindanao.
